We operate a European Volunteer Service (European Solidarity Corp ESC)
This service offers young people aged 18-30 the opportunity to volunteer for up to one year in another European country on projects run by approved organisations. The key aim of the ESC programme is a non-formal intercultural learning experience. The Kindergarten usually have volunteers from this service for up to one year.
The Kindergarten encourages the teamwork of volunteers and employees so that we can offer children the best services possible.
Volunteers contribute their unique talents, skills and knowledge to the Kindergarten and have become powerful advocates for the kindergarten. The involvement of volunteers from diverse communities ensures that the kindergarten is responsive to the needs of our multicultural society.
There is an application and interview process that the volunteers must go through before they are chosen; those chosen must meet a certain criteria that the kindergarten has in place.
The volunteers stay locally and during their time here we ask that parents welcome them and make them feel part of the kindergarten community by perhaps inviting them on day trips/showing them local attractions or asking them to join a meal etc.
The ESC funds and supports young people in conjunction with Leargas here in Ireland to help them take part in projects that benefits local communities if you are interested more information can be found at https://youth.europa.eu/solidarity_en
